I posted a Reel this week that turned into one of those “wait… I’ve never heard it explained like that before” moments for a lot of female entrepreneurs.
If you’re a visual person, you can watch it here first:
Your Capacity For Wealth is Showing
But let me paint the picture for you, because this simple demonstration explains why so many female entrepreneurs hit burnout right when their businesses start growing.
Imagine your faucet represents the revenue flowing into your business.
When you’re first starting out, the water is barely trickling.
One client.
One sale.
Maybe a slow month followed by a slightly better one.
So you place a small glass under the faucet.
And honestly?
It feels spacious.
There’s no pressure.
No chaos.
Plenty of room.
Everything feels manageable.
Then something exciting happens.
Your business starts working.
More inquiries.
More clients.
More visibility.
So naturally, the faucet starts flowing faster.
More revenue begins flowing in.
But suddenly the glass fills very quickly.
Water reaches the top and spills over the edges.
This is the exact moment when many female entrepreneurs start to feel overwhelmed, even though their businesses are technically doing better than ever.
Your mind starts racing:
Can I actually handle this?
This feels like too much.
What if I mess something up?
Nothing about the revenue is bad.
But your container hasn’t changed.
When overflow happens, the nervous system interprets chaos as danger.
So many business owners do something without even realizing it.
They turn the faucet back down.
They slow their growth.
They start saying no to opportunities.
They unconsciously cap their income.
Not because they aren’t capable.
But because their wealth capacity hasn’t expanded yet.
Instead of shrinking the flow of revenue, what if you expanded the container?
In the reel, I replaced the small glass with a jar.
Same faucet.
Same water flow.
But suddenly everything felt calm again.
Comfortable.
Manageable.
Until eventually…
The jar filled too.
And that’s when I grabbed the kettle.
A much bigger container.
Because scaling a business isn’t just about making more money.
It’s about increasing your wealth capacity as a female entrepreneur.
Increasing your wealth capacity means expanding the parts of your life that allow you to hold more success without burning out.
That includes:
When your container grows alongside your revenue, growth starts to feel exciting instead of overwhelming.
Many entrepreneurs believe scaling is purely about strategy.
But in reality, your nervous system plays a massive role in how much success you can hold.
If your body associates growth with chaos or stress, you will subconsciously slow down your progress.
But when your nervous system learns that success is safe, sustainable growth becomes possible.
If you’re interested in learning more about how stress impacts business decision making, I invite you to attend Somatic Wealth, a 90 minute exploration of your body’s relationship with money and how to work with your energy flow to expand your capacity.
Most business advice focuses on increasing revenue.
But the deeper question is this:
Are you trying to increase the flow?
Or are you learning how to hold more of it?
Because the women who build sustainable wealth don’t just turn the faucet on full blast.
They expand their container at the same time.
If you’ve ever experienced a moment where your business was growing but your body felt like it was in panic mode…
That wasn’t failure.
That was simply your container asking to grow.
And when you increase your wealth capacity, success stops feeling like something you have to survive.
It becomes something you can actually enjoy.
